Penile warts

The man examines the warts on the penis

Warts are no longer something mysterious and incomprehensible for a long time. Now it has become commonplace, everyone knows about them and everyone also knows that their treatment is possible. But these statements are very general because there are a large number of their varieties. The causes of the accident may also be different. Next, we will focus on the warts that occur on the penis.

Such warts are often called genital warts and genital warts. They are usually found on the top of the penis and on the forearm. Warts appear on the head of the penis as a result of infection during sexual contact with a person infected with the papilloma virus.

In general, warts are not a serious medical problem, they are curable. But this is possible only if you consult a doctor in a timely manner and follow all his advice. If the diagnosis is not made in time and treatment is not started, warts can then spread throughout the body, affect the internal organs and in the worst case lead to the formation and development of malignant tumors.

Therefore, under no circumstances should you underestimate the severity of warts and, secondly, self-medication. Remember that only a specialist can make the right diagnosis and choose the treatment method. Such warts can also be pathogenic and harmless. Who can distinguish them but the doctor?

In all respects, warts on the penis are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). It is more often transmitted through unprotected sex. But there are cases of household infection. This virus, like others (e. g. , herpes virus) remains in the bloodstream throughout a person’s life and can be detected in the event of a sharp decline in immunity. Doctors believe that genital warts are the most dangerous for them because they increase the risk of cancer. In this case, these warts are removed.

If it is found that these types of warts in men arose due to infection during sexual intercourse, it is worth conducting a thorough examination, including for the presence of HIV in the blood. If the latter is still found, it is necessary to contact the clinic for treatment. It is also essential to know the sexual partner that he or she may be a carrier of this type of virus.

Externally, genital warts may be different. The size varies from a few millimeters to a few centimeters. Shape and form are also varied. They may be flat, epithelial on the inside, or dotted. As it turns out, they are not separate, i. e. the case where only one wart is a rarity. Much more often they arise and are located on the penis in whole groups. The presence of warts on the penis may be accompanied by itching, burning, redness.

Many doctors tend to think that no matter what the wart is, it is better to remove it, even if it is harmless. But, of course, it is impossible to make any decision without a doctor's opinion, based on a number of tests and personal examination. But it is better to avoid warts.

For this there is prevention. First of all, you need to follow the hygiene of the genitals and avoid casual sex. Secondly, if any inflammatory process is observed, they should be eliminated in a timely manner to avoid exacerbation. Third, if the virus is found in a regular sexual partner, it is necessary to undergo treatment, examination and, if necessary, treatment.

Treatment of warts on the penis

As mentioned above, treatment is prescribed exclusively by the physician on a case-by-case basis. Also, we have already mentioned that it is impossible to get rid of human papillomavirus. The warts are eliminated, the patient recovers, but the virus still remains in the blood. It also can not be passed on to other partners in the process of intimacy. Symptoms may also reappear in the event of impaired immunity. All methods used today relieve symptoms in much the same way and reduce the risk of relapse to the same level.

The doctor's appointment directly depends on the type of warts. For example, if he understands that warts are practically harmless, his usual removal is prescribed (to restore a more aesthetically healthy appearance), and if more serious types are found, then the methods are completely different. Consider the most dangerous type of treatment - genital warts. Treatment is carried out using different procedures.

The most commonly used method of removing warts is cryogenic removal with liquid nitrogen. It creates a low temperature that affects the wart. The main advantage of this method is that painkillers are not needed, as well as the fact that scars rarely remain afterwards.

Starting treatment for genital warts with laser therapy is recommended. It is produced using a laser, they remove warts. In this case, you need anesthesia and scars may remain. Once removed, the viruses are released into the air to stop them, so health care workers who perform this procedure should wear masks. The room (office) itself should have a well-functioning hood and it should be disinfected regularly.

The method of electrocoagulation is similar. It includes effects on warts at high temperatures. With it, remedies are also needed so that the patient does not feel pain. Scars and scars may also remain. Healthcare workers should also be protected and should create conditions in the office so that neither other patients nor doctors and nurses become infected.

The most commonly prescribed drug is an extract of the plant genus Podophyllum. It is usually prescribed with a specially designed applicator 2 times a day, every 12 hours. You should use the product for three days in a row, then pause for 4-7 hours. After which there is still 3 days of treatment. These stages are gradually repeated until the warts disappear. But at the same time, doctors do not recommend using this drug for more than 5 months.

Relapses after treatment are 30%. Some doctors prescribe immune drugs to patients to prevent them, but their effectiveness in this case has not been proven.

There are many remedies and methods. In any case, it is important to use them exclusively as prescribed by your doctor, otherwise you can significantly worsen your condition. If he prescribed medications, you should carefully read the instructions, contraindications and clearly control the number of their intake and follow all the rules.

Modern medicine does not stand still, so at this time drugs and vaccines are being developed that will allow many people to get rid of HPV infection. But these events are only at an early stage. But, it is quite possible to hope that in 10 years the problem of human papillomavirus will become absolutely solvable.
